This is to be a review of SEO Book.com run by Aaron Wall.
So let’s get started, First off SEO book has been around in some form or another
since 2003, It was a downloadable book in 2003, authored by Aaron Wall who even then was ” a legend(in his own time)”.
It has now evolved into a web site with the same title. When you see the wealth of materials available you will understand why it is now a membership site. There is a seven (7) free trail which will give you time to check out the site and decide if you want to join, details as to cost is found on the site.
No matter your level of expertize(or lack of) Aaron has been there and provides information on all levels of Search Engine Optimization. The concept is simple, it means optimizing for the Search Engines which is the way many people seek out information, so the higher you rank in the results the more likely you will be clicked on and can try to convince the person that you have what they want.
The complex part is getting to the first(!st) page of the result, which is where SEO Book(the site) comes in. The best way to find out about SEO is to go to the site now while it is fresh in your mind

There wasn’t WordPress, which meant you had to learn HTML(Hyper Text Markup Language) which is now up to HTML5 (not a standard yet). This would then create a Static Site and much of what you did to start with would have to be done again. Then to the rescue came CMS(Content Management System) of which one is WordPress presently(Feb 2012) at version 3.3.1. If you follow directions properly it could install in as little as 5 minutes on a self-hosted site.

There are also Blogger, WordPress.com, and other free(with Terms of Service limitations)hosted sites Also available at a price are customized WordPress Themes( default with the fresh install is two Themes). There are many more free themes at wordpress.org as well as many (also free) plug-ins.Regarding plug-ins, the fewer the better.

WordPress can also be made into a Static site, which if done it won’t need much if any HTML added. WordPress even has a built-in WYSIWYG(What You See Is What You Get)Editor, many people turn this off as it gives them more control; that being said you will find it useful to know some HTML if you decide to disable the WYSIWYG.

Many hosts have what they call a quick install such as Fantastico available if you don’t want to do the manual install and can’t afford to have anybody do it for you. It goes or should without saying that this isn’t needed on a hosted site.
